The opening session of text marks the spot began with a very
lovely introduction to people behind the scenes of the festival. While it
wasn’t a lot of people or information it was nice to see who might be involved
in some of the panels and what goes on during them. We were then introduced to
eight different authors who I sadly do not remember the names of but included
the lovely John Marsden, Alice Pung and Hazel Edwards. My initial thoughts on
what they could possibly be doing was not at all of the good variety until Sue
and Sarah Mayor Cox brought up the fact they were going to be doing a lovely
game show. Each of the questions were well thought out and the answers were
very entertaining. The game ended in a tie and left the audience wanting more
of what they had to say but sadly that could not be because the session ended
all to soon.
